Description

Built for the first 72 hours — when what you packed is the supply chain

Deployment doctrine is blunt: for the first stretch of a disaster assignment, you support yourself. FEMA’s urban search & rescue program plans task forces around being self-sufficient for the first 72 hours, and the same standard runs through Medical Reserve Corps checklists, state defense force packing lists, and department strike-team SOPs. Water, food, spare uniforms, sleep, meds, documents — it arrives on your back, or it doesn’t arrive.

L.A. Rescue built the Ultimate 72 Hour Deployment Pack around that reality, with input from veteran USAR task-force members: a tall, organized, weather-protected load that stands ready in the locker tonight and moves as one piece when the call comes.

Packed tonight, gone at 0600 — the pack is the supply chain.

What 72 hours looks like inside

  • Uniform & PPE layer — spare uniform, base layers, gloves, shower shoes.
  • Sleep system — bag and pad, protected from weather with the rest of the must-stay-dry kit.
  • Consumables — water, rations, and personal or prescription meds for three days.
  • Documents & power — ID and certs, deployment orders, chargers, batteries, headlamp.
  • Mission extras — helmet and hard gear lash outside on the equipment line.

Pack to your task force or department SOP first — this is the load the pack was shaped around, not a substitute for your list.

Features that earn their place

  • Divided center cell with all-weather barrier. Wet/dry separation for the gear that has to stay dry: sleep system, spare uniform, paperwork.
  • Detachable daisy-chain equipment line. A full run of attachment loops for carabiners, tools, and hard gear — and the whole line comes off when the assignment doesn’t need it.
  • Elastic-loop side pockets. Dedicated, visible storage for lights, gloves, and radio batteries. No digging through the main cell in the dark.
  • Tall 28″ vertical profile. Stands upright on a cache shelf or locker floor and rides clean in an apparatus compartment.
  • Modular wildland attachment. Accepts L.A. Rescue’s wildland accessories when the deployment turns into a campaign.
  • 4.6 lb empty. Personal gear allowances are tight — USAR task forces commonly plan around 65 lb — so the pack itself shouldn’t spend your budget.

Common questions

What actually goes in a 72-hour deployment pack?

Enough to work and live unsupported for three days: spare uniform and PPE, sleep system, water and rations, personal and prescription meds, documents and certifications, lighting and power. Your task force or department packing SOP is the authority — the categories above are the load this pack was designed around.

Can I fly with it?

At 51.5 linear inches it’s inside the common 62-inch checked-baggage standard — check it, don’t carry it on. Verify limits with your carrier before travel.

Which color for our team?

Yellow is the high-visibility pick around caches and staging areas, red follows fire/EMS convention, and black travels low-profile for law enforcement and plainclothes roles.

Is it warrantied?

Yes — L.A. Rescue backs it with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
