Duty Belts
Outer duty belts and the inner (liner) belts they lock to — 1.5″ to 2.25″ in leather, laminate, and nylon from Safariland, Gould & Goodrich, Boston Leather, Blackhawk, Uncle Mike’s and more. Most duty rigs pair a hook-lined outer belt with a loop-faced inner belt; match the outer belt width to your holster and carriers.

Choosing a duty belt
Width. 2.25 inches is the patrol standard and what nearly every duty holster loop and case is cut for. 2-inch and 1.75-inch duty belts exist for lighter rigs and some corrections and security uniforms; check the loop width on the holster and cases before changing belt width, because they do not adapt.
Closure. Buckleless hook-and-loop belts (the Safariland 94 is the most-ordered belt here) give a clean front and no buckle to catch. Tri-release and standard buckles are the traditional choice and the easier one to adjust over armor. Sam Browne belts and straps are a dress and honor-guard item.
Material and finish. Leather (Boston Leather, Gould & Goodrich, Aker), laminate (Safariland) and nylon (Blackhawk, Uncle Mike's, Heros Pride). Plain, basketweave and hi-gloss finishes should match the holster and cases; nylon matches nylon. Leather is heavier and lasts; laminate holds its shape and cleans easily; nylon is the lightest and the cheapest to replace.
Inner belt. A hook-lined outer belt needs a loop-faced inner belt in the trousers. The inner belts are listed on this page; order the same size rule as the outer belt. Buckle belts use four keepers instead.
Sizing. Order over the trousers and the inner belt; most manufacturers say one size up from the trouser size, and the listing states the rule for that belt.
Procurement notes
Standardize width, finish and closure once, then reorder by size. Request a quote with the size run and finish; we will match it to the cases and holster and return one quote with lead time.
