Safariland Model 7305: built for the Glock 17
When a shift goes sideways, the holster is the one piece of gear that has to work twice — hold the Glock 17 through a struggle, then give it up instantly to a trained draw. The Safariland Model 7305 does both.
Why officers trust it
- ALS (Automatic Locking System). The pistol locks the moment it’s holstered, and a straight-back thumb release frees it in one natural drawing motion — nothing to pinch, rock, or think about.
- SLS (Self-Locking System) rotating hood. A deliberate push-down-and-forward motion no one can defeat from in front of you, adding a layer between your sidearm and a grab.
- Light-bearing fit. Molded for the Glock 17 with its weapon light mounted, so the pistol rides tight with the light in place.
- SafariSeven construction. Safariland’s duty laminate shrugs off impact, rain, and vehicle-frame abuse that ends leather rigs.
Who carries it
Patrol officers, sheriff’s deputies, and campus and transit police carry this class of rig every shift; agencies standardize on it because armorers can service the hardware and every officer draws the same way.

Common questions
Does it need a break-in period?
No. The shell is molded to the firearm, so retention is set by the locking hardware rather than friction — fit is correct out of the box.
Is this a duty or concealment holster?
Duty — check the ride and belt attachment in the specs to confirm it matches how you intend to wear it.
Will it fit my weapon light?
This is a light-bearing model, molded for the Glock 17 with its weapon light in place. Run the exact pistol/light pairing before ordering — a bare pistol in a light-bearing shell will sit loose.
