Choosing duty lighting
Rechargeable vs. CR123. Rechargeable duty lights (Streamlight Stinger and Strion families, Nightstick rechargeables, Maglite ML-series) cost more up front and less over a career; they need a charger per officer or per vehicle. CR123-powered lights (SureFire, Streamlight ProTac, Fenix) are lighter and need no charger infrastructure but consume batteries, which is why bulk 123A packs are among the most-ordered items in this category. Agencies usually pick one platform per role.
Weapon-mounted lights and holsters. A pistol light changes the holster. The Streamlight TLR-1 and TLR-7 families, SureFire X300 and Nightstick weapon lights each have specific duty holster fits; order the light and the holster as one decision and use the Holster Finder to confirm the pairing.
Fire and EMS. Right-angle and helmet lights from Streamlight (Survivor, Vantage) and Nightstick are built for helmet mounts and intrinsic-safety ratings; the listing states the rating. Wearable and cap lights for EMS are under Specialty & Wearable.
Keep the fleet running. Bulbs, switch assemblies, tailcaps, battery sticks, chargers and mounts are listed by model under Parts & Accessories. Maglite and Streamlight parts in particular are a standing reorder for most agencies.
