Safariland 6005-10: thigh-level carry without the full harness
External vest carriers and plate setups push a belt holster into an awkward reach. The 6005-10 drops the whole platform to thigh level with a single strap — not the bulk, heat, and swing of a full double-strap thigh rig.
Why it earns belt space
- Single-strap, low-profile design. One 2″ elastic leg strap where double-strap shrouds put two — less bulk in a seated position, less to snag on the door frame.
- Silicone-lined strap. The elastic grips through the run instead of walking down your leg.
- Quick-release buckle. Rig on, rig off without re-threading the duty belt.
- Three-hole Safariland mounting pattern. Carries one holster plus two accessories, or three accessories — the same pattern the whole duty ecosystem bolts to.
- Injection-molded nylon. Flexes with movement, shrugs off impact, and doesn’t care about weather.

Common questions
Will my holster mount to it?
Any Safariland holster with the standard 3-hole pattern bolts straight on. Order the QLS 22 option and a fork-equipped holster clicks on and off instead.
Does it swing when running?
The single silicone-lined elastic strap plus the belt anchor keep it planted — it’s a mid-thigh platform, not a loose drop-leg.
How is this different from a full shroud?
A full double-strap shroud offers a bigger mounting surface; the 6005-10 trades that for a slimmer, cooler, faster-on rig that still carries a holster and two accessories.
