Leg Irons and Transport
Transport restraints for corrections, court security, prisoner transport and hospital watch: leg irons in standard and oversize bows, waist chains and transport belts that hold cuffs at the midline, combination transport sets, and long security chains. Peerless, Smith & Wesson, ASP, UZI, Boston Leather and Gould & Goodrich.
Three questions pick the product. Ankle or waist: leg irons restrict stride, waist chains and restraint belts fix the hands. Standard or oversize bow. Chain length, which is set by the vehicle and the holding procedure. Every steel restraint here takes the standard handcuff key, the same one as the handcuffs you already issue; spare keys are under Keys & Accessories.

Choosing transport restraints
Leg irons. Hinged-bow ankle cuffs on a chain. The Smith & Wesson M&P Leg Irons and the Model 1900 are the fleet standards here; Peerless 703C and 753C are the equivalent 15-inch chain models in nickel and color finish. Chain length is stated in the listing; 15 inches is the usual transport length. Finish matters for inventory control the same way it does for handcuffs: color-finish models let a facility assign sets by unit.
Oversize bows. Peerless 705C and 755C open wider than a standard leg iron. Stock a few per transport van or holding area; a standard bow that will not close is a use-of-force problem, not an inventory one.
Waist chains and restraint belts. A waist chain such as the Peerless 7002C XL holds a pair of handcuffs at the front of the body so a seated subject cannot raise their hands. Leather restraint belts from Boston Leather and Gould & Goodrich do the same job with a buckle instead of a padlock and are the choice for hospital and court settings where a chain is not wanted. The Smith & Wesson 1851 and ASP Transport Plus are combination sets: cuffs, connector and leg irons sold as one unit.
Security chains. Long chains (the Peerless PSC78 is 78 inches) connect a restraint to a fixed anchor or link several subjects for group movement. Match the length to the vehicle or the room; the catalog default is not a plan.
Keys. Peerless, Smith & Wesson and ASP transport restraints all take the standard handcuff key. Buy spares with the set.
Procurement notes
Transport restraints are a per-vehicle and per-post item rather than a per-officer one, so quantities are small and the spec matters more than the price. Request a quote with the vehicle or facility count, bow size mix and finish, and we will return a line-item quote with lead time. Several Peerless models are built to order; the listing shows the current lead time. Purchase orders and Net 30 are available to agencies on approval.
